Printable Wedding Program — Free PDF, Print-Ready at Any Size

A printable wedding program is a high-resolution file you can take to any printer — your home printer, a local copy shop, or an online card service. Our tool exports a clean PDF with the right resolution, bleed and crop marks already set, so what you see is exactly what prints.

This page covers print production — sizes, resolution, file specs, home-vs-shop and how many to print. For changing the look, see the program template; for what to write, see program wording. (This is the guest card, not your planning timeline.)

Your names and date come from your project, so the file is correct before you ever hit export — no typos discovered after printing a hundred cards.

The same export settings apply to your menus and other stationery, so every printed piece comes off the printer at matching quality.

Want it on a stick for an outdoor ceremony instead of a flat card? See the program fan guide — it starts from the same file.

PLANNING . WEDDING — is easy to remember and even easier to use.

How to Get Your Print-Ready File

From finished design to a file your printer will accept takes about a minute.

  • Finish the design — layout, fonts, colors and your order of the day.
  • Choose your size — 5×7, 4×9, A5 or a custom dimension.
  • Export the PDF — high resolution, with bleed and crop marks included.
  • Print at home or send to a shop — the same file works for both.

Wedding program showcase

A clean order-of-the-day wedding program in black serif on cream, laid flat on natural linen — the welcome line, the couple’s names and the timed schedule from arrivals to send-off.
An order-of-the-day program propped on a white folding garden chair at golden hour, greenery glowing behind — a relaxed outdoor-ceremony moment.
A wedding program standing on a white-linen welcome table in front of a neat stack of the same cards, ready for guests to take one on the way in.
A wedding program resting on a charger at a candlelit ballroom place setting, with hurricane candles and crystal glassware — a formal, polished table.
A wedding program standing on a linen table at a beach reception, turquoise sea and bright sky behind — easy, coastal elegance.
A wedding program on a rustic dark-wood plank, its warm cream stock and serif type at home in a barn or farmhouse setting.
A wedding program tucked against a folded napkin at a vineyard place setting, wine glasses and golden-hour hills behind.
A minimalist wedding program in a slim clear-acrylic stand on a stone surface in a bright, pared-back room — typography doing all the work.
An order-of-the-day wedding program photographed flat on marble, generous margins and a tall serif heading keeping it timeless.
A guest holding a wedding program during an outdoor ceremony, the couple at a floral arch softly out of focus beyond.
A wedding program propped on a white-painted windowsill in soft daylight — a simple, pretty way to style a single card.
A wedding program standing by a mason jar on a wood table, warm string lights twinkling in a farmhouse reception behind.

Wedding Program Sizes

Single-card programs are small enough to set at a place setting but big enough to read at arm’s length. The common options:

  • 5×7 in — the most popular single-card size; fits a place setting and standard frames.
  • 4×9 in — a tall, slim card; also the natural shape for a program fan.
  • A5 (5.8×8.3 in) — a touch larger; good for a fuller schedule or a folded booklet.
  • Custom — match an existing stand, tray or envelope exactly.

Print at Home vs Print Shop

Both work from the same PDF — it’s a question of quantity, stock and finish.

  • Home printer — fine for small counts on heavier cardstock; print two-up on letter or A4 and trim.
  • Local copy / print shop — fast and affordable for larger counts on quality stock, cut to size.
  • Online card service — for premium finishes (cotton stock, edge painting, vellum) delivered ready to set out.

File Specs That Print Cleanly

You don’t have to think about any of this — the export handles it — but for the curious:

  • Resolution — output stays 300 DPI at your chosen size, sharp even for fine serif type.
  • Bleed & crop marks — included by default so trimming never clips your text.
  • Color — clean, high-contrast values that hold up in both RGB previews and CMYK print.

How Many Programs to Print

If you’re setting a card at every seat, print one per attending guest plus 10–15% extra for keepsakes and mistakes. If guests share, a common rule is one per couple, or roughly one for every two guests.

Because the program is generated from your project, you can re-export and print a few more in minutes if your count grows — no re-buying or re-editing a template.

Why Our Printable Program Is Free and Foolproof

No sign-up, no watermark, no per-size upsell — one design exports to any size you need, as many times as you need.

Because the file is generated from your project, it’s always current and correct. Fix a detail and re-export in seconds; there’s never a stale version sitting in your downloads folder.
